VOTING NOW OPEN TO BOOST SPECIAL NEEDS CIRCLE EAST MIDLANDS CHANCE OF WINNING SHARE OF HOUSEBUILDER’S £1MILLION CHARITY GIVEAWAY

Special Needs Circle East Midlands is in the running to win a share of a £1million Persimmon Homes Building Futures fund aimed at supporting under-18s across the UK but first they need online votes to win.

Persimmon Homes North Midlands is backing Special Needs Circle East Midlands to be a prize winner at a special event later this year, where cash awards of £100,000, £50,000 or £20,000 will be made to those with the most online votes.

Lyn representing Special Needs Circle East Midlands said: “We’re so proud to be chosen as a regional finalist and it’s given everyone a massive boost. The last 18 months or so have been extremely challenging for charities across the UK, including ourselves, so we’d really appreciate if people would get behind us and start voting.

“If we could win any of the top three cash awards then it would make a massive difference to the communities we support on a daily basis.”

Special Needs Circle East Midlands aim to support families who have a child or children with special needs and disabilities. Support groups run in Swadlincote and Leicester and there is always a friendly face and a listening ear waiting to hear your story.

The top prize would be spent on a five-year project that involves extending sports and club activities for the children. Developing a small piece of land to make a sensory garden would also provide more activities which families could enjoy.

A little bit about us..

Special Needs Circle - East Midlands is a Registered Charity run entirely by Volunteers who all have children with special needs and disabilities.

Our aims are to support families with who have a child or children with special needs and disabilities.

We run workshops, training sessions, family sessions and support groups. We work with schools and other local organisations to make sure the advice we give you is correct and up to date and if there is something we can't help you with we can usually signpost you to someone who can answer your query.

Our support groups run in our family centre based in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire and Leicester and there is always a friendly face and a listening ear waiting to hear your story and on hand to help you out.

We will even throw in a cuppa and some biscuits or cakes. We also have our moving forward walking group which meets every fortnight throughout term time.  We will also be running a Saturday club soon for SEN children and their families.

Can't make a group meeting? Don't worry we also provide support through social media which can be accessed by clicking on the icons on this page. Don't forget to fill in a FREE membership form by clicking on the membership page first.

We welcome parent carers of children with additional needs and disabilities including those undergoing diagnosis to join us. We run two pages on Facebook including a closed support group (members only) for parents and carers to chat and share ideas. This can be found by clicking the Facebook icon at the top of the page.

If we find we cannot help you then we can usually signpost you to someone who can as we work with many other Organisations and can be booked using Eventbright. Just search for 'Special Needs Circle'

Being parents of special needs children ourselves we more than understand the roller coaster of emotions and the fights we have bringing up a child or children with additional needs. The endless appointments, form filling, stress and upset that can leave you feeling lonely and confused. We are here to help you navigate the maze and empower you on your journey. So come and join us and our 1600+ members! We would love to meet you!
